Renewed atacarnet.fi facilitates international goods movement – the new website offers up-to-date information and digital services for companies

The Finland Chamber of Commerce has renewed the atacarnet.fi website, which now offers a comprehensive information package about the ATA Carnet customs document and the application process. The goal of the renewal is to make international business easier for companies and to streamline customs procedures.

ATA Carnet – passport for goods

The ATA Carnet, often referred to as a “passport for goods,” is an international customs document that enables the temporary export and import of goods to more than 80 countries without customs duties or complicated export paperwork. In Finland, ATA Carnets are issued by regional Chambers of Commerce, and the system is administered globally by the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF).

Essential information conveniently in one place

“The renewed website gathers all essential information about the ATA Carnet in a clear and user-friendly format. Companies can now easily find instructions, forms, and practical examples for applying for and using a Carnet,” says Mirjam Ligi, Specialist in International Trade at the Finland Chamber of Commerce.

The new site provides clear guidance on

  • step-by-step application process
  • country-specific requirements,
  • special cases and problem situations

A step towards a digital future

The website renewal is part of the Finland Chamber of Commerce’s broader ATA Carnet digitalization project, which aims to gradually transition to an electronic eATA Carnet system by 2026. The digital Carnet will further speed up and simplify customs processes for Finnish companies engaging in temporary exports.
